Colombo Strikers won the toss and opted to bat first
Earlier, after deciding to bat first, Colombo Strikers posted 157/6 at the end of 20 overs. Their innings was anchored by Pakistani batter Babar Azam, who held his wicket from one end and contributed 59 runs but was a bit slow in the process as he played 52 balls to score 59 runs. Nuwanidu Fernando contributed 28 runs off 31 balls. Isuru Udana bagged three wickets for B-LOVE KANDY, while Mohammad Hasnain contributed a couple of wickets.
In pursuit of Strikers’ 157 runs, B-LOVE KANDY got off to a shaky start as they struggled to score runs at the beginning of the innings and lost three wickets in a jiffy.
Thanuka Dabare, Dinesh Chandimal, and Kamindu Mendis were all dismissed, leaving B-LOVE KANDY struggling at 40/3 by the end of the powerplay. The batting side never recovered from the early bowls as they could only manage to score 130 runs after losing 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
