Krafton Inc. Refutes BGMI Data Breach Claims

In a statement exclusively shared with Yonhap News Agency, the parent company of Krafton India asserted that its internal investigation has found no evidence to support the claims of data leakage and unauthorized sale of user information.

“We have reviewed the case thoroughly and confirmed that the allegations of data leakage and monetization are groundless,” stated a spokesperson for Krafton Inc. in the communication to Yonhap News Agency.

Complaint Dates Back to 2023, Says Krafton Inc.

Interestingly, the South Korean firm also clarified that the current complaint is not a new issue. According to the statement, the same individual had initially raised these allegations in 2023, and the company had addressed the matter at that time by demonstrating that the claims were unfounded. “This matter was originally brought up in 2023, and we resolved it by demonstrating that the allegations were unfounded. The same individual filed a new complaint in 2024 with the same claims,” the company added.

Krafton India Seeks Legal Recourse in Bombay High Court – In response to the legal proceedings, Krafton India Pvt. Ltd., the Indian arm of Krafton Inc., has filed two writ petitions with the Bombay High Court, seeking to challenge the ongoing investigation. A writ petition is a formal legal request to a court in India to examine the legality of a law enforcement or legal procedure.
