How was Kochi selected as the host city for the BMPS 2024 LAN event?
The decision to host the BMPS 2024 LAN event in Kochi was a vision of the Battlegrounds Mobile India publishing team. The marketing team had previously executed successful campaigns in the city, making it a natural choice for the event. This decision was a continuation of the momentum that had already been established. We strongly support BGMI as a game and value the collaborative approach of the team.
Why was the in-game client not used during the LAN event, even though it was present during the online phases?
The recent release of the Battlegrounds Mobile 3.4 update introduced some bugs that prevented us from using the in-game client during the BMPS 2024 Grand Finals LAN. To avoid potential crashes that could disrupt the ongoing matches, we opted to use an alternative solution.

Every game doesn’t necessarily require a separate anti-cheat application that needs to be installed on devices. BGMI has a built-in anti-cheat system that operates on the backend. Our developers continuously monitor for suspicious activity during matches, ensuring fair play throughout the BMPS 2024 tournament.
Have there been any significant changes to the tournament’s marketing strategy?
While we have not used hoardings for this event, it doesn’t mean we won’t use them in the future. Our partnership with Kerala Blasters FC was a strategic decision to reach a wider audience quickly. Despite being held during school days, the first two days of the BMPS 2024 Grand Finals saw strong fan attendance. The final day was a packed house, demonstrating the effectiveness of our approach. We believe in promoting the right things in the right way.
