BCCI Supreme Court Verdict: The recent verdict of Supreme Court allowing the BCCI to amend its constitution has come as good news for many administrators. It is not only Sourav Ganguly, who was happy with the verdict. The likes of Congress MP Rajeev Shukla and BJP MLA Ashish Shelar would be keen to get involved as cricket administrators in different capacity.
As for Shukla, he may eye a return to the board, reported Indian Express. It is important to note that he has been involved with the board in the recent past. He is a former IPL chairman as well.
Shelar can make a return to the Mumbai Cricket Association framework as well. These are some of the changes, which can take shape in the next few months or so.
The SC in 2016 after the Lodha Committee Recommendations, barred ministers from the BCCI. But, now there have been changes, allowing the MLAs and MPs to be part of the BCCI and the state associations, the Express report further explained. Also, the new verdict means that only those who have been convicted by a court and have charges against them can be barred.

With the new verdict in place, it would not come as a surprise if there is major reshuffle in other state assocations in the near future as well.
IN fact for Shelar, this new could not have come at a better time. The Mumbai Cricket Associations elections are just round the corner. It is scheduled for September 28.
Interestingly, former India cricketer Sandeep Patil is set to content the elections for the MCA President. It is for the same post, Shelar could also contest, which makes matters really interesting just two weeks ahead of the elections.
With Shelar having worked in the MCA previously, he is set to give Patil a huge run for the prestigious post in the board.
Jay Shah as president? Also, with the SC verdict, an interesting phase looms large in the BCCI as well. They are set for a fresh election next month, and there are chances of current secretary Jay Shah becoming the new president. Several of the state associations wants to see Shah at the top of the BCCI as well.
