BCCI Elections LIVE: End of road for Sourav Ganguly at BCCI?
- As things stand, it is likely the end of road for Ganguly at the BCCI.
- In 2019, he became the first Indian cricketer to be elected president after a late night drama.
- Brijesh Patel who was slated for the role was replaced by Ganguly with backing from Jay Shah and N Srinivasan camp.
- However, things have changed. His public feud with Virat Kohli hasn’t put him in good light.
- Furthermore, allegations regarding him attending selection meeting have also damaged his clean image.
- But as an administrator, Ganguly is here to stay.
- If Graig Barclay refuses to stand in the election for a second term, Ganguly is the favourite for the ICC chairman role.
- However, if he does, Ganguly can be BCCI’s representative to the ICC.
- As per an Indian Express report, Shah has already received support from 15 state associations.
- Shah is touted to be the main man for BCCI pocketing over Rs 48,000 crore from IPL Media Rights.
- Ganguly with his health struggles has been in the shadows more often.
- Jay Shah is the overwhelming favourite. But KSCA President Roger Binny has also emerged as one of the candidates.
- As per information, Binny is set to be elected unopposed.
