BCCI Apex Council Meeting: India is likely to play four Tests, 3 ODIs and as many as 14 T20Is in the 2021-22 season. The development awaits a confirmation from BCCI’s Apex Council Meeting on Monday. As per a report from SportStar, India will face New Zealand, West Indies, Sri Lanka and South Africa between November and June next year. Meanwhile, India will also tour South Africa in December & January, the report added.

BCCI Apex Council Meeting: While Mumbai and Kanpur are front runners to jost Test matches against New Zealand, Mohalo & Bengaluru might be named as venues for Test match series against Sri Lanka in Ferbruary-March. Both the series will comprise two Test matches each and it will be part of the World Test Championships. India will then host Proteas for five T20Is in June. The proposed fixtures are based on relaxations in view of COVID-19 outbreak over next six months.

Vs WI: 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is
Vs SL: 3 Tests & 3 T20Is
Vs SA: 5 T20Is

BCCI Apex Council Meeting Meanwhile, the match fee for the domestic cricketers can be hiked by almost 40%. Board in conjunction with the State bodies are also likely to offer central contracts to the domestic cricketers. Women cricketers would also be hoping for a hike in match fees.

Besides this, the domestic cricketers, who lost out on Ranji Trophy cricket last season due to COVID-19, are likely to get minimum 50 per cent compensation of their total match fees if the BCCI Apex Council approves the working group recommendation.
