Bayern Munich vs Barcelona: Barcelona are handed a boost for their crucial UCL game against Bayern as no fans will be allowed

Bayern Munich vs FC Barcelona to be played without fans in the stadium:

Bayern Munich vs FC Barcelona will be played on December 9th, 2021 at 1:30 AM IST at the Allianz Arena. Barca head into the game likely needing to win, needing to match Benfica’s result against Dynamo Kyiv in the final round of games to progress to the knockout stages. In the reverse fixture at Nou Camp, Barcelona were trashed 3-0 by the Bavarian giants. A Lewandowski double and Thomas Muller goal saw Bayern breeze past the Spanish side with ease.

Markus Soeder, the premier of the German region of Bavaria called for soccer matches to be played without fans again due to the fourth wave of coronavirus pandemic. “Football matches should be without spectators again. Bavaria will do that,” Soeder said on Twitter, adding that allowing fans in stadiums is too dangerous at the moment as it encourages people to travel.

Since the trashing a lot has changed at Barcelona, with the arrival of Xavi Hernandez who is the new coach at Barcelona he will look to guide his team to victory as many Bayern players still could be returning from isolation.

This morning, it was confirmed by prime minister of Bavaria, Markus Söder, that there will be no fans at games in the German state for the foreseeable future due to coronavirus concerns.

That means there will be no Bayern or indeed Barca – fans in place for the Champions League clash next week, and in theory, that should make things at least marginally easier for Xavi Hernandez‘s men.
