Bayern Munich: It looks like Chelsea has finally found a solution to the Kepa Arrizabalaga problem. The Spanish goalie has not been a staple at the Stamford Bridge ever since his move to England. In 2018, Kepa paid his €80 million release clause and became the world’s most expensive goalkeeper. Not a lot has gone right since then. Now, he has an option to redeem himself as Bayern Munich is reportedly interested in bringing Kepa to the Allianz Arena.

Chelsea will not stand in the way of Bayern Munich’s interest in custodian Kepa Arrizabalaga. The Blues sealed the £25 million acquisition of Robert Sanchez from Brighton last week, while Bayern have been anxious to fill the post since Yann Sommer’s move to Inter Milan.
With Manuel Neuer still on the sidelines after breaking his leg in December, Thomas Tuchel’s team had considered signing Arsenal-bound David Raya. After baulking at the asking price, Bayern Munich has settled on the Chelsea stopper and is contemplating a loan deal with a buy option.
The Spaniard will rejoin his former manager, who discarded him in favour of Edouard Mendy at Chelsea. Arrizabalaga, who has two years left on his Chelsea deal, is the most expensive goalkeeper in history, having cost Athletic Bilbao £72 million in 2018. Bayern Munich is also allegedly interested in Ajax’s Geronimo Rulli and Sevilla’s Bounou, in addition to Arrizabalaga.
Bayern’s Manuel Neuer woes
First-choice goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has been ruled out for ‘up to ten weeks’ due to an injury. As a result of the departure of second-choice Yann Sommer earlier this summer, Bayern Munich is in need of a successor, at least temporarily. Bayern is keen to reach an agreement soon, given their competitive season begins in only three days when they face RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup.
According to reports on Tuesday, Neuer still can’t kick the ball properly’ after suffering a broken leg earlier this year and is still on the mend. Bayern Munich’s goalie injured his leg when skiing during the ‘extra vacation’ time allotted to him following his country’s World Cup defeat.

Neuer had surgery for the problem and had returned to Bayern Munich’s first-team training in recent months, but he has encountered some difficulties since then. According to BILD, Neuer has struggled to ‘kick the ball properly’ in recent weeks and has had to undergo another round of surgery as a result.
According to Mail Sport, Juventus is willing to transfer Polish custodian Wojciech Szczesny due to interest from Bayern Munich. The Polish keeper has been on Bayern’s shortlist ever since Yann Sommer left the club to join Inter Milan.
Bayern have not had the best window so far. Kyle Walker seems to have decided to extend his contract at City. All three of their bids for Harry Kane have been declined too. While they prepare their fourth bid, the Bavarians will be hoping that the Kepa deal goes through without any hitches.
