Barcelona Financial Crisis: LaLiga Blocks Barcelona New Signings – Spanish giants FC Barcelona find themselves in fresh trouble after failing to register their new summer signings. According to the latest reports, La Liga has rejected Barcelona’s attempt to balance their books by inflating the cash value of two club assets. Barcelona will now look to sell 25% of the Barca Studios to register Robert Lewandowski, Andreas Christensen, Jules Kounde, and others for their opening game fixture. The 25% sale of the Barca Studio will generate €100m in cash which will be enough to register the new signings for the opening game clash against Rayo Vallecano. Earlier the Catalan giants generated cash of €667m by selling off the future television rights to balance their books with the La Liga rules of Financial Fair play.
The sale of the Barca Studios has been referred to as the ‘third lever’ by Barca. Along with a couple of departures and a brand new deal with Spotify, Barcelona has cash of more than €850m which will be used to make further additions to their squad. Despite having cash, La Liga has blocked the club from registering their new stars.
Barcelona still to register their new players. That fourth economic lever is going to get a work out ahead of the La Liga start this weekend.

The audit made by La Liga revealed that Barcelona received €517m by selling 10% and 15% of TV rights to Sixth Street. The remaining €150m has been apparently paid by the club. Though this move is deemed legal, La Liga has claimed that the amount doesn’t account to new income.
Barcelona has spent the most money among other Spanish clubs this summer but has failed to manage their accounts and thus that means they are still unable to register their new signings into the squad. The club is currently unhappy with how things have proceeded with La Liga. Though the scope of a fourth lever is not out of contention, the Barca board will opt for the same if things fail at the last moment.
As a means to fix the balances, the club is already negotiating with senior club players like Sergio Busquests, Gerard Pique, and Jordi Alba for salary reductions. Moreover, a potential sale of Frenkie de Jong will pave way for the recent club signings to join the squad.
