Controversy continues for the Bangladesh cricket team. The Men in Green have decided not to pick an unfit Tamim Iqbal. Shakib al Hasan will lead the 15-member squad in the World Cup 2023. However, the controversy with Tamim Iqbal continues after the BCB Selectors did not select the former Bangladeshi skipper.
Tamim Iqbal announced his retirement after retiring from the captain role. However, he made a U-turn and returned to the series against New Zealand. Despite his comeback, Tamim has been dropped from his side as the Men in Green are adamant about not picking an unfit Tamim.

Though Tamim Iqbal failed to bat in the opening ODI match against New Zealand he managed to score a brilliant 44 but complained of a back injury. Previously Tamim asserted that he would be fit before the World Cup. But with persistent back problems, things took a sharp wrong turn.
Reports in Bangladeshi media state that Tamim had informed his teammates that he would not be available for the entire tournament. It is assumed that his fitness has taken a sharp hit and thus with the persistent injury, he would miss a few games.
But Shakib is understood not to go for a player who will not be totally fit for the World Cup.

Despite Tamim’s absence, Bangladesh’s batting features the experience of Mushfiqur Rahim, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Litton and Shakib. Spin continues to remain the team’s strong point, featuring an exceptional set of finger spinners in Shakib, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nasum Ahmed and Mahedi Hasan.
A number of these spinners are also capable all-rounders, including Shakib and Mehidy while Nasum also showcased his talent with the bat in the recent Asia Cup.
And despite the loss of Ebadot, the pace bowling has enough skill to cause troubles in the opposition ranks. Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman lead the way with Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud and Tanzim Hasan for support.
