Bahrain Grand Prix LIVE – Formula 1 LIVE Streaming: The much anticipated 2022 Formula 1 season kicks off in Bahrain today. Max Verstappen goes the quickest after setting a lap time of 1m32.544s. Charles Leclerc goes second after setting a lap time of 1m32.640s. Sergio Perez goes third after setting a lap time of 1m32.791s. The first race of the season is scheduled for Sunday. The two Pre-season Testings have been concluded. The first one took place in Barcelona from 23rd to 25th February. Then, the action moved onto Bahrain where the second Pre-season Testing took place from 10th to 12th March.

  • Toto Wolff, the Mercedes team principal said, ” the bouncing was “one of five or six issues where we believe there is big performance to gain. In F1 is never one solution. But I think there is low-hanging fruit that we need to tackle for the next races, which will improve our performance. I don’t think we can match the leader’s pace at the moment. Red Bull is in a league of their own.”

  • The FP2 session has come to an end. It’s Red Bull’s Max Verstappen who leads the session with two Ferrari drivers behind him. Charles Leclerc is second and Carlos Sainz is placed third.

  • Yuki Tsunoda has another close moment at Turn 8. This time with Lance Stroll, as it looks like the AlphaTauri driver clipped his front wing against the right-rear tyre of the Aston Martin. That incident has also been noted by race control.
  • The FIA stewards will investigate the Charles Leclerc vs Yuki Tsunoda incident.
  • The stewards have opted to ‘note’ the earlier incident between Yuki Tsunoda and Charles Leclerc when both the drivers tripped over each other. The incident took place at Turn 8.

  • Daniel Ricciardo won’t be joining now as it has been reported that he has a water leak in his car. So, it’s all over for Daniel in FP2.
  • Currently, all the drivers on the track are running on soft tyres.

  • Just 13 minutes left in the FP2 session as Verstappen leads with Leclerc and Sainz in second and third positions.
  • Ferrari is really putting up a show here today. They had pretty good Pre-season Testings in Barcelona and Bahrain. Now, they are continuing that progress in FP2 with Leclerc second and Sainz third.
  • Carlos Sainz moves up to P3 with a lap time of 1m32.520s.

  • Lewis Hamilton is really struggling and is down at P9.

  • Lewis Hamilton on the team radio says, “Some sort of problem with the front brakes man, the front right is pulling.”

  • “We are at the limit of bouncing I can feel in the straight,” Ocon reports over Alpine team radio.
  • Lewis Hamilton, driving for Mercedes says on the team radio, “It’s still bouncing a lot.”
  • Max Verstappen is second with a lap time of 1m33.621s.
  • Lewis Hamilton comes into fourth place with a lap time of 1m34.379s on the mediums. Elsewhere, Verstappen comes out onto the track for the first time in FP2.

  • Andreas Seidl, McLaren Team Principal says, “So far so good, I would say. Daniel seems to be back on full energy which is very important. Regarding the brake cooling, still early days but we’ve had a good start to the session which is positive. From what we hear, it is a problem throughout the pit lane, but not to the extent we had it.”
  • There have been none of the big lock-ups between Turns 9 and 10 as there were in the Pre-season Testing.
  • Esteban Ocon, driving for Alpine is now fourth after setting a lap time of 1m35.417s.
  • Red Bull’s Sergio Perez is now second after setting a lap time of 1m35.050s.
  • Esteban Ocon is back out on the track after his sidepod fixes. He is currently driving on the soft tyres.

Max Verstappen ahead of the first Free Practice Session said, “I will be a more aggressive driver this year,” replied Hamilton bluntly after a brief pause. “You’ll see.”

Lewis Hamilton also added, “I don’t expect we’ve made a huge amount of progress. The car naturally was fresher coming into the test. You have a new engine, you have new components. But it’s still a car from last week. We obviously have learned a lot from the week of testing here. And I hope we’ve taken some sort of step forward in terms of understanding where we position the car.

Bahrain Grand Prix 2022

When was the track built?

It started building in 2002. Like the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, the developers for the track had a blank and sandy area to work with. The 5.4 km track was designed by Hermann Tilke.

When was its first Grand Prix?

It was the year 2004 when the first Grand Prix was held in Bahrain. It was dominated by the two Ferrari drivers, Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello. But, it was Michael Schumacher who won the inaugural race in Bahrain. It also had a fantastic fight between Mark Webber of Jaguar and Fernando Alonso of Renault.

Who won the last Grand Prix?

The last Grand Prix at Bahrain in 2021 was won by none other than Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes. The second place went to Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and the third place to Valtteri Bottas. It was again the battle between Hamilton and Verstappen.
