We’re keeping our best game for Olympics: Satwik sets eyes on Paris Games

India badminton player Satwiksairaj Rankireddy said he and his partner Chirag Shetty will try to peak during the Paris Olympics.

India badminton player Satwiksairaj Rankireddy has said that he and his partner Chirag Shetty will try to bring out their best game during the Paris Olympics set to be hosted later this year.

“We don’t want to peak right now (chuckles); we’re keeping our best game for the Olympics. We have a lot more left in our tank, and we are coming up with different gameplay and plans before the Olympics,” Satwik told PTI.

The star badminton duo will partcipate in All England as top seeded pair but Satvik insisted that he is not getting carried away by the top-seed tag.

“We have a lot of tournaments coming up before the Olympics, including the All England, which is very special for all our team members, where we want to do well. But, in the back of the mind, we are thinking about the Olympics“, Satwik further added.

The shuttler added that the numbers and rankings don’t matter on given day and they are looking forward to the All England competition.

“I just got to know about it (top seeding) yesterday. It feels special. But all these numbers are just there for happiness, and don’t matter on the given day, as we can lose to anyone. So, we are not thinking much about our seeding”, the 23-year-old concluded.

The Badminton England and the Championships will be played between 12-17 March 2024 at Utilita Arena Birmingham.
