Sindhu was heard saying, “She was not ready sir, how can I serve? I was ready. ”
The umpire refused to pay any heed. This resulted in Sindhu calling for tournament referee but no relief was provided to her.
Expectedly, Yamaguchi won the next point and soon caught up with the Indian at 15-15. The Indian admittedly looked rattled and lost the set 19-21. Yamaguchi did not gave any chance to Sindhu in the 3rd and wrapped the match.
“It was really unfair. I just can’t fathom what happened. Victories and defeats are part and parcel of one’s journey. But not this way. This was really unfair” Livid Sindhu told InsideSport few hours after the match.
