The Colombo franchise will be closely watched and followed by the fans as they hope to see Babar destroy bowling attacks with immense grace. The top-order batter has amassed a whopping 9201 runs in 260 T20s at a brilliant average of 44.02.

Babar fans were left fuming as Sri Lanka Premier League franchise Colombo Strikers named Niroshan Dickwella as captain ahead of Babar Azam. The Pakistan captain’s admirers were taken aback by the fact that Dickwella, who is not even a certainty in his national team, will lead the side featuring Babar Azam in it.

The reason for backing Dickwella ahead of Babar Azam could be influenced by the fact that Babar Azam won’t be available for the full season for the LPL, owing to Pakistan’s ODI series against Afghanistan in the second week of August. However, it did not stop the Babar fans to take a dig at the Colombo Strikers on Twitter.
