Austrian GP Starts on 30 June, Check Out All You Need To Know About the 2023 Austrian GP

The 10th round of the championship will be an exhilarating one for sure. Austria also marks the return of sprint weekend.

Austria GP Live Streaming: The 2023 F1 Austrian GP is all set to take place later this week at the Red Bull Ring. The race is the first one since the Canadian GP and it will be kicking off the second leg of European races after the Italy-Monaco-Spain header. This is going to be a special one because the home team Red Bull is performing in a class of its own. With a dominant streak in the season so far, Red Bull will look to capitalize maximum points in their home race as well.

As of now, the Milton-Keynes team leads the championship standings with 321 points under the belt. This means a 154-point lead over the closest rival Mercedes in just 8 rounds of racing. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen hails high in the drivers’ tally with 195 points to his name alone followed by teammate Sergio Perez. The upcoming race is highly anticipated by the F1 juggernaut for multiple reasons.

Primarily, the improvement in Mercedes W-14 over the past few weekends might pose a threat to other teams in the fight for P2 in the championship. Moreover, after two consecutive podiums, Lewis Hamilton will look to dethrone Fernando Alonso from his current P3 spot in the driver’s standings. However, the team that’s looking forward to this weekend is again Red Bull. After attaining their 100th win in Canada last week, they are now eyeing the record for most consecutive wins in a season.

Austrian GP: Where to watch, timings, and predictions

The 10th round of the championship will be an exhilarating one for sure. Austria also marks the return of sprint weekend. Starting from the 30th of June, the practice session and qualifying will take place on Friday. Furthermore, the sprint shootout will be followed the next day along with the much-anticipated sprint session. The main race, as usual, is scheduled for Sunday, the 2nd. Austrian GP is the one with a rich racing legacy of over 5 decades.

Notably, the track has been a strong one for Max Verstappen. In the last 5 outings, the Dutchman took to the chequered flag ahead of everyone on three occasions. However, Ferrari man Charles Leclerc took the win here last year. This season, the obvious contenders for the win are the Red Bull duo. While Max would look to consolidate his championship lead, Checo is in desperate need of a comeback.
