Australian Open LIVE: Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna to begin Mixed Doubles campaign at Australian Open, face Australia’s Fourlis-Saville duo in first round – Follow LIVE updatesMirza and Bopanna last paired up during the Wimbledon in 2021. They made it to the third round and lost against 14th seed Andreja Klepac and Jean-Julien Roger. They are now aiming to lift a Grand Slam title that would make Sania’s retirement memorable. Sania Mirza already had a winning start in the Australian Open. In the women’s doubles, along with partner Anna Danilina, she won the first round contest in straight sets against Dalma Galfi and Bernarda Pera. Mirza once again looks to start her Mixed Doubles campaign with a win.

Bopanna meanwhile lost his first round contest in the Men’s Doubles at the Australian Open 2023. He paired along with Australia’s Matthew Ebden. The 10th seeded pair lost to Austria’s Lucas Meidler and Alexander Erler 6-3, 7-5. Bopanna is yet to win a single match in 2023. Just before the Australian Open, he bowed out from the first round at Maharashtra Open and Adelaide International.
Bopanna and Mirza’s opponent in the Mixed Doubles, Jaimee Fourlis is a runner-up in the Mixed Doubles of the Australian Open last year. She partnered alongside Jason Kubler in 2022. This year, she is eyeing another deep run in the event alongside new partner Luke Saville.
