Pat Cummins has finished what Allan Border started back in 1987 when he brought the ultimate glory to Australia. Cummins and his men have led Australia to their first WTC Final Trophy and have also made Australia the first side to win all four ICC trophies. Cummins has been a vital part of the Australian side ever since his debut in 2011 and was part of the T20I World Cup win in 2021 and Australia’s fifth 50-over World Cup title run as well.
Ever since Border helped Australia win its ICC title, Australia has grown stronger and stronger. They began dominating the cricketing world in the early 1990s; however, the prestigious World Cup trophy evaded them in 1992 and 1996. It was under Steve Waugh that Australia started its streak of winning three consecutive World Cup trophies.
After Waugh won the 1999 World Cup, he passed the baton to Ricky Ponting, who became the most successful captain in white-ball history, claiming two consecutive World Cups in 2003 and 2007 and winning a total of four ICC trophies in a span of six years.

After their second Champions Trophy title run in 2009, Australia faced a six-year title drought, which was ended by Michael Clark in 2015, who led the side to the trophy at home.
Australia once again faced a six-year title drought, which seemed to get worse when they failed to qualify for the WTC Final 2021 due to a fine incurred by the ICC due to their slow over-rate, due to which they couldn’t contest for the ICC Mace. They, however, didn’t let the setback keep them down and claimed their first T20 World Cup trophy later that year under the helm of Aaron Finch.
With this ICC Mace, Cummins has fulfilled every Aussie fan’s dream to become the first team to win all four ICC trophies and claim their 10th overall ICC title.
