Australia Tour of Pakistan: Australians to get VIP status in Pakistan vs Australia series – Almost 150 rooms of a five-star hotel in Islamabad have been booked for the arrival of the Australian team in Pakistan. This grand measure warrants that the Australians will receive VIP status in their upcoming tour of Pakistan. It will be almost two decades following which the Men in Yellow will visit Pakistan. It has been reported that the Australian team would be residing in the hotel for a span of 15 days during the first leg of the tour which is scheduled to commence from 4th March 2022. The players will be getting high security alongside a VVIP status during their time in Pakistan.

Reports reveal that a single room will be eligible for the occupancy of a single person owing to the safety precautions and measures followed for the Covid pandemic. Moreover, the three floors where the Australian team would be residing would be out of bounds for other people and will essentially be a part of the bio bubble for the players and the staff.

The matters of safety and the security of the Australian players and the staff would be preceded over by the Pakistan Cricket Board or the PCB. Strict safety protocols for the players and accompanying staff would be followed. Norms like no interaction with other residents and guests of the hotel who are not a part of the bio bubble would be strictly prohibited.

While most of the Pakistani players are busy participating in the ongoing Pakistan Super League aka PSL 2022 playoffs, the players who are not a part of the knockout are required to check into the hotel on 23rd February. These players would be joined by a couple of Australian staff who would be traveling from other different countries.

These staff members would be required to spend a mandatory three-day quarantine period in Islamabad. On the other hand, the Australian team would quarantine themselves in Australia before arriving in Pakistan in their chartered plane. The Australian team will undergo one day of isolation upon landing in Pakistan.

It is expected that the Australian team would reach Pakistan on 27th February. After a day of isolation, the team would proceed with their training from the next day. Both the teams, i.e Australia and Pakistan will have to clear Covid safety guidelines before traveling in Pakistan.

The teams will lock horns against one another in two test matches in Lahore and Karachi. Following the test matches which are the first leg, the second leg will commence. Three ODI matches along with one T20I game will be a part of the tour.
