Chasing a modest target of 146, Australia stumbled. The uneven drop-in pitch did not help cause. The problem was further compounded by huge boundaries at the Carrara Oval. Australia began the chase well though with David Warner and Cameron Green. Aaron Finch demoted himself to No 4.

However, Australia lost two wickets off Sheldon Cottrell’s 1st over. David Warner and Mitchell Marsh departed in the 2nd over. While Cameron Green and Aaron Finch steadied the ship for a while, Australia lost three wickets in quick succession. By 8th over, Australia were 58/5.
But Finch and Matthew Wade launched a fightback. With a 69-run stand, for the 6th wicket, Australia were back in the game. While Finch departed with Australia still 29 runs behind, Wade and Starc ensured the hosts chased down the target in the last over.
Earlier, Aaron Finch won the toss and elected to field first. Though not in Australia’s 15 for T20 World CUP, Cameron Green has been retained in Australian XI for the match. David WARNER, Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Marsh are back in XI. WestIndies is giving Yannic Cariah chance in XI.
