The incident took place in the 16th over of Australia’s innings. With the scores levels, Mitch Marsh thought of finishing the run chase with a boundary. Gayle bowled a full-length delivery outside off and Marsh tried to go over the mid-off fielder for a boundary. However, he mistimed it & was caught by Jason Holder.
Chris Gayle soon ran up to Mitch Marsh and jumped on his back to say thank you. Mitch Marsh too replied with a friendly smile to Gayle.

Dwayne Bravo’s last outing in Maroon: Dwayne Bravo had already confirmed the Australia match would be his last in the national colour. Bravo scored 10 off 12 with the bat and returned with 0-36 with the ball in his last outing in Maroon.
Unlike Dwayne Bravo, who had clarified that this match would serve as his last outing in maroon, Chris Gayle had not made clear his plans for international retirement. However, the Universe Boss dropped a couple of hints in the match against Australia. The 42-year-old was seen celebrating his dismissal & also gave away his gloves to the fans in the stands.

Josh Hazlewood came back from an expensive first over to pick up four wickets. In reply, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh played the innings of 89* and 53 respectively and helped Australia chase down the target with 22 balls to spare.
