Green has always been utilized as the fourth or the fifth bowler by Australia. He came into bowl as the fourth change bowler for the Baggy Greens on Day 1 in Melbourne and immediately made an impact. He was the pick of the Australian bowlers and bagged wickets of South Africa’s middle and lower order to claim his maiden 5-fer in Test cricket. The feat came in Green’s 18th Test but what was more important was the timing of his performance.

Mumbai Indians was quick to notice the star performance of their star Australian all-rounder. They immediately posted a Tweet about Green’s performance in Melbourne, just to let him know that his each an every move is being monitored by the franchise.
This was after Mumbai Indians owner Akash Ambani specifically said that MI had been tracking Green’s progress for the past three years. Green is the second costliest player in the IPL 2023 Auction after Punjab Kings’ Sam Curran who went for Rs 18.50 Crore.

After MI acquired Green, the tall all-rounder sounded excited to begin his maiden IPL journey with five-time champions.
“I think joining such a great team in Mumbai, we obviously got such a history, all the past players that have played for them, and how great they are and how good the team is at the moment. We’ve got so much talent that you can learn off them and improve your own game. I loved my time in India for the two weeks then, so I’m happy I’m going to come back and be playing with the Mumbai Indians,” Green told official broadcasters at the end of the Auction.
It goes without saying that Cameron Green will be under a lot of pressure, especially given the price he fetched at the auction. The start has been fantastic, and Mumbai Indians fans are hoping for some serious fireworks with both the bat and the ball in April 2023.
