Wu Xiaowei too good for Roshibina Devi
In the Asian Games final against local heavyweight Wu Xiaowei, the Indian found the going tough. The Chinese had an aggressive tart in the first round and began with a splendid take down on Roshibina.
The Manipuri athlete tried to bounce back. She got hold of Wu’s leg to push her out to the edges. However she was unsuccessful and gave away a 1-0 lead to the Chinese. In the second round, Wu sealed the issue with an attack on Roshibina Devi’s torso. With that she sealed the gold.
Earlie, Roshibina defeated Vietnam’s Thi Thu Thuy Nguyen 2-0 in the semi-finals to confirm atleast a silver medal for India. In the quarterfinal she beat Kazakhstan’s Aiman Karshyga by WPD (winner by point difference). India habe now won 10 medals overall in Wushu at the Asian Games. It includes – one silver and eight bronze.
