Asian Games: India add three more medals, Equestrian Dressage Team wins gold,

India added three more medals to their tally on Day 3 of the Asian Games. The Equestrian team won India's third gold medal in the tournament

India won its third gold medal in Asian Games 2023 on Tuesday, 26th September. Anush Agarwalla, Hriday Vipul, Divyakriti and Sudipti Hajela clinched a historic gold in Equestrian Dressage team event. This is India’s first-ever gold in Equestrian at the Asiad after 41 years. India also bagged two medals in Sailing Neha Thakur won the silver, while, Eabad Ali bagged bronze.

India’s 4x100m Medley relay team has made their way into the final in Swimming. The team comprising Srihari Natraj, Sajan Prakash, Likith Selvaraj and Tanish George Matthew finished second in their heats. Earlier In Shooting, Ramita and Divyansh Panwar fell short by a small margin in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed team event bronze medal play-off at the Asian Games. They lost to South Korea.

Earlier, Indian Women’s squash team defeated Pakistan 3-0 in group stage. Men’s Hockey team continued their dominance. In their second group match, the Harmanpreet Singh led side registered a thumping 16-1 win against Singapore.

The day will also feature other India vs Pakistan clashes. In Tennis, India’s Mixed Doubles pair Yuki Bhambri and Ankita Raina will be facing their counterparts. Both the country’s Men’s Volleyball team will also fight in the fifth-place play-off.

After clinching a thumping 16-0 win against Uzbekistan, India will face Singapore in their second group game in Hockey. Singapore meanwhile enter the contest after being humbled by Pakistan. India, the top-ranked side in Asia yet again will look to continue their dominance in the upcoming contest.

Squash

Indian Squash squad will get their campaign underway in the team event. Indian Men’s team led by Saurav Ghosal will face Singapore. The match is scheduled to begin at 7.30 AM.

India Women meanwhile will be facing Pakistan in their opening group encounter. Later in the day, Indian Men’s team will be facing Qatar in their second group match.

Volleyball

In the Volleyball too the arch-rivals are set to take on each other. Both India and Pakistan lost in the quarterfinal. Despite being out of medal contention, they will be fighting for the fifth spot in the tournament.
