Asia Cup: Virat Kohli vs Babar Azam: India and Pakistan have a history of producing some great players. The current generation has many and the comparison between the stars become obvious. The two players will be seen in action during the upcoming Asia Cup. India will open their campaign against Pakistan in Dubai on August 28.
Akram said that such comparisons has been a regular thing for India and Pakistan players. There has been instances of Inzamam Ul Haq compared with Sachin Tendulkar or for that matter Javed Miandad and Sunil Gavaskar.
“The comparison between Babar and Kohli is natural. Earlier, there was Inzamam UL Haq vs Rahul Dravid or Sachin Tendulkar. There was Javed Miandad and Sunny Gasvaskar too. Gundappa Vishwanath vs Zaheer Abbas,” said Akram in a presser organised by Star Sports on Tuesday.

There is a reason for his success in all formats. The Pakistan batter has an incredible technique. He can score runs on all surfaces and against both the seamers and pacers, which makes him a complete batter too.
“Babar has been consistent in all the three formats because he has got all the correct technique. He enjoys his batting and hungry for runs. But when you talk about Babar and Kohli comparison, it is too early for me, Babar is on right track where Kohli is. But comparing him to Kohli at this stage is too early,” Wasim said.
In all formats, Babar has established himself as a top player. He averages above 45 in all formats. He has scored 3122 runs in 42 Tests while 4664 in 92 ODIs and has 2686 runs in 74 T20s. If one looks at Kohli, he averages above 50 in both ODIs and T20, and dropped under 50 in Test matches.
