Who is through to Super 4?

Although India are not officially through to the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2022, they will be favourite to make that stage since they play minnows HongKong. A win will see India through as group winners having already beaten Pakistan in their opening match.

Afghanistan’s win over Bangladesh on Tuesday (August 30) has seen them through as Group B winners. They are so far the only side to guarantee a place in the Super Four. Which therefore means that only one of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will play in the Super Four.

Pakistan will have to beat HongKong in their final game if they are to guarantee their place in the Super 4. While HongKong can also qualify for the Super Four if they beat both India and Pakistan.

India can win Group A with win against HongKong

India will win Group A if they beat HongKong on Wednesday evening if they beat HongKong ijn Group A encounter. Hong Kong started its journey in Qualifiers to get the better of hosts UAE in the final match. This will be their first meeting with India in T20 format and will be looking for a positive result.

After a hard-fought victory against Pakistan, India will look to cool things off and complete a routine win to book Super 4 berth. But the focus will be on KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. Rahul looked out of sorts in a golden duck while Kohli did manage to score 35 but it came off 34 balls.
