Argentina Open 2023: Teen sensation Carlos Alcaraz has called Roger Federer as the Messi of Tennis recently. Alcaraz is in Argentina to play in the Argentina Open. Speaking in an interview just ahead of the tournament, the Spaniard compared the playing styles of the two legends. Speaking to Argentina media Ole, Alcaraz said, ” Federer is theMessi of tennis because of the ease with which he plays,” said the World No.2. “I loved his Tennis. I loved watching him play. I was watching his highlights all day long, watching matches,” continued the teenager about his admiration for Roger Federer.

He also went on to speak about Messi leading Argentina towards the World Cup triumph much reently. “Messi was the superhero in the World Cup and practically put himself in the entire country so that Argentina would consecrate itself in Qatar,” he said.

Apart from speaking about Federer, Alcaraz also said that he is learnig from the Big 3 on how to keep improving.  “Rafa, Roger and Djokovic, when they were young, they were so good, but as time has gone by, they’ve improved,” he added.

Alcaraz, who had a terrific 2022 in which he finished as the year-end World No.1 also spoke about his goals for the upcoming year. “It was a very good year. I achieved my dream, my goal, very quickly. Practically in just a year. I dealt with it as naturally as possible.”

“After becoming No. 1 I had to set new goals, new things for the long term. To continue to enjoy myself, continue to improve. Because I’m very young and I have a lot of things to improve. You have to keep training and looking forward,”  he added.
