UFC 294: Anshul Jubli vs Mike Breeden Fight in Doubt as Weight Missed

For those new to the sport, fighters must undergo weigh-ins before their matches to ensure their weight aligns with the division’s limit they’re competing in. In Anshul Jubli’s case, he competes in the lightweight division with a limit of 156 pounds. Jubli made weight at 155.5 pounds, but his opponent missed the mark significantly, coming in at 159.5 pounds, which has cast uncertainty over the event.

Jubli has apparently agreed to the fight despite the weight discrepancy, but Mike Breeden is still awaiting medical clearance, leaving the fate of the UFC 294 bout up in the air. However, if the fight does happen, it could be advantageous for Jubli. Not only will he be fighting for his Indian fans, but he may also receive a higher purse for accepting the bout despite the weight difference. Additionally, a portion of Breeden’s purse might go to Jubli.

Weight issues have often occurred in this division without canceling fights, so there’s still hope that the bout can proceed. Indian fans are waiting for a memorable fight from Jubli, and they’ll be looking forward to witnessing this battle unfold.
