Andy Robertson: It is quite a normal sight these days to see players losing their cool. We have become accustomed to players whining, gesturing, and pushing other players when calls don’t go their way or when they are unhappy on the field. It is definitely surprising to see a referee lose their cool though. In the game between Liverpool and Arsenal, one of the linesmen, Constantine Hatzidakis elbowed Andy Robertson after the half-time whistle, which was caught on video as well. Now though, it is said that Constantine Hatzidakis will not face any punishment from the FA. Follow Liverpool Football Club LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN

The alleged act, which allegedly took place at Anfield last Sunday during halftime, infuriated Robertson. Hatzidakis’ strike on the full-back appeared to be captured on television replays.

Hatzidakis was taken off duty for this weekend’s round of games amid calls for his banishment. However, the FA has stated that no further action would be taken after an inquiry. The FA’s statement said, ‘We have thoroughly reviewed all of the evidence in relation to the recent incident at Anfield involving the Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson and match official Constantine Hatzidakis, and we will be taking no further action.’
The statement continued, ‘Our comprehensive process involved reviewing detailed statements from Liverpool and PGMOL, as well as multiple angles of video footage, in relation to both the incident and its surrounding circumstances.’

Constantine Hatzidakis’ statement after Andy Robertson incident
The video shows pretty evidently that Robertson was elbowed by the linesman and Hatzidakis revealed he is prepared for any outcome. Hatzidakis also released a brief statement regarding the incident. The linesman said, ‘I have discussed the matter directly with Andy Robertson during an open & positive conversation. It was not my intention to make any contact with Andy as I pulled my arm away from him and for that I have apologised.’

Before the investigation was concluded by the FA, Hatzidakis revealed in a statement, which said, ‘Whatever happens, happens. There is nothing more I can say at the moment. I can’t talk about what happened.’
It comes as a bit of a surprise that the linesman has no consequences for his actions. If the roles would have been reversed, it is safe to say that Robertson’s season would have ended, owing to the ban he would have faced. It seems like the FA is happy with the apology that Hatzidakis offered Robertson.
