All eyes now on Jasprit Bumrah return in India vs Ireland series

With India Tour of West Indies finally over, all eyes now shift to India vs Ireland T20 series. This three-match series will mark the return of ace India pacer Jasprit Bumrah. The returning speedster will also captain the side vs Ireland.

A few players will now get a much-needed break after the Windies tour before the crucial Asia Cup, which will be followed by the ODI World Cup. But first, there are the Ireland T20Is. The Asia Cup 2023 roster will be revealed following the Indian team’s three Twenty20 International matches against Ireland, which begin on August 18.

Jasprit Bumrah, who is returning to the national team after an injury and will serve as India’s new captain for the Irish tour, will be under close scrutiny to determine whether he is physically fit.

According to rumours, this week would see the roster for the Asia Cup named.

Jasprit Bumrah, who is making a comeback, will captain India against Ireland. Former India cricketer Laxman was rumored to join the tour because head coach Rahul Dravid and his support staff were in the US for the final two T20 Internationals against the West Indies.

Sitanshu Kotak and Sairaj Bahutule, among others, will be a part of the Indian support team in the Ireland series, according to a Cricbuzz report.

The team for Ireland will come together in two different groupings in Dublin. The West Indies series players will take a direct flight from Miami to Dublin, while the rest will depart from Mumbai early on Tuesday. Ireland and India will face off on August 18, 20, and 23.

India Squad: Jasprit Bumrah (Captain), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Jitesh Sharma, Ravi Bishnoi, Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Avesh Khan, Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar, Shivam Dube, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Sanju Samson.

After Ireland series, in the run-up to the world cup, which begins on October 5, India will be attempting to fine-tune their team and preparations through the Asia Cup and three one-day internationals against Australia.

In Group A of the Asia Cup, Pakistan and Nepal were pooled with India.

The final will be played on September 17 and will take place in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
