Alejandro Garnacho: Alejandro Garnacho has already proven himself as he broke into the Manchester United first team. He also gave some brilliant performances for the Red Devils which has landed him a new 5-year deal. However, with such great power came great responsibilities. Man United will face Manchester City at the end of the season. That collides with the schedule of the FIFA U20 World Cup. Youngster Argentine Alejandro Garnacho has performed exceptionally well in 31 appearances for Manchester United. He has also scored some crucial goals against West Ham, Leeds, and Fulham. Garnacho also gave a very important assist to Marcus Rashford against Manchester City. He has been absent owing to an injury. However, his key performances have led to the club closing a new deal till 2028 with Garnacho.

No more details regarding the deal have been revealed yet. After signing the new contract, Garnacho said, “The manager and his coaching staff have helped me to improve in every way, and with their support, I am developing each day to help the team to be successful.” He added, “I am relishing the future and can’t wait to create more special memories with this group, in front of our amazing supporters.”

Garnacho was not selected for the 2022 FIFA World Cup squad. However, he was sought out for the post-World Cup friendly matches that Argentina played. Unfortunately, Garnacho had to miss those as he suffered an ankle injury. He sustained the injury during Man United’s Premier League clash against Southampton. This time, he has been called up by Javier Mascherano for the 2023 U20 World Cup.

The U20 World Cup starts on May 20 and ends on June 11. This collides with Man United’s end-of-the-season games. Man United will have some very important matches at that time. This will include a Premier League clash against Chelsea on May 26 and FA Cup final against Manchester City on June 3. Man United boss Erik Ten Hag has clearly said that they will not release the player for the FIFA U20 World Cup.

Man United is coming back from a draw against Tottenham Hotspur where they lost a 2-goal lead. Hence, Ten Hag will look forward to a flawless win against Aston Villa in the next match. Ahead of the match, boss Ten Hag said about Alejandro Garnacho and his injury, “No, we don’t release him [for the U20 World Cup]. Yes, tomorrow [Friday] he’ll be in team training, partially, then we have to see when he can return totally to team training and back into games.”
