- Carlos Alcaraz came into Wimbledon this year as one of the favourites after a terrific season that saw him win four titles.
- He first won the Rio Open title and closed the hard court season by winning the Miami Open. He then began the clay court season by lifting the Barcelona Open title.
- At Madrid Open, he stunned the world by becoming the first man on clay to defeat Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic in the same tournament and went on to win the title.
- At the French Open, he bowed out from the quarterfinals after losing to World No.2 Alexander Zverev.
- He didn’t play in any of the grass court tournaments ahead of Wimbledon and made his way straight into the Grand Slam.
- In his first round, he faced a scare from Jan-Lennard Struff but managed to win it in five sets.
- In the next two rounds, he has found his groove on grass as he defeated Tallon Griekspoor and Oscar Otte in straight sets.

- Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner faced Stan Wawrinka in the opening round and defeated the thrice Grand Slamd winner in four sets to register his maiden victory in Wimbledon.
- He then defeated Mikael Ymer in four sets in the second round. Against 20th seed John Isner, he clinched a straight set victory to make his way into the fourth round.
- The Italian was forced to retire from the fourth round at French Open after suffering a knee injurt while playing against Andrey Rublev.
- He made a comeback at Eastbourne International but bowed out from the first round after losing against Tommy Paul.
- He is now eyeing to reach his third quarterfinal in Grand Slam events.
Alcaraz vs Sinner Head-to-Head: This will be the second meeting between both the players on the ATP Tour. They last met during the 2021 ATP Masters 100 tournament at Paris witrh Alcaraz winning the match in straight sets.
