Myth quits Twitch, signs an exclusive deal with YouTube

Popular Fortnite and Valorant streamer Myth recently took to Twitter to announce that he was shifting from Twitch to YouTube. He stated that it was his decision, and proceeded to announce via video that he had siged an exclusive deal with YouTube. In the future, fans will not longer be able to see Myth streaming on Twitch and can tune in to his YouTube channel to watch his gameplays.

Myth even responded to the amount of support that he had been getting after the announcement. He stated that he was overwhelmed by the love and support he was receiving. Furthermore, Myth will stream on YouTube for the first time on July 13, 2022, and has revealed that he will speak about the shift at length during this stream.

Fans speculate the reason behind Myth’s shift shortly after LilyPichu

The sudden resurge in the number of streamers shifting from Twitch to YouTube has gotten fans speculating about the reason behind this. Most fans seem to believe that Twitch’s infamous Creator Pay has to be one of the motivating factors.

Rumors had been circulating a while ago that Twitch was going to reduce creator revenue from 70% to 50%. While Twitch never confirmed this or brought any changes to the actual policies, the rumors created quite a stir within the community. It forced many streamers to speak out against the issue, or look to switch to other platforms, YouTube being the most favorable one.

After Ludwig, LilyPichu, and now Myth, it remains to be seen which streamers switches allegiance from purple to red in the near future.
