Babar Azam: Simon Doull: PSL 2023 – Social media at times can get nasty, and that is the time when things start to get uglier. Former New Zealand player Simon Doull received a lot of hate from a Pakistani fan named Feroze Khan, who used abusive language on the commentator for criticizing Babar Azam. Doull slammed the Pakistani captain during live commentary in the PSL game for not putting the team first and going after personal glory. While Azam scored a sparkling ton against Quetta Gladiators it came at cost of a few precious dot balls, which eventually hampered the result for Zalmi. Feroze’s distasteful comment on Instagram went viral in no time, it did not take much time for Doull to give a fitting response to Feroze. “So sorry to have upset you Feroz. It’s just an opinion, and I get paid for it. It’s ok if you don’t agree, but this language is never ok. Babar Azam Simon Doull: What exactly happened?
“Rather than putting the team first… the last little while, that’s all that been happening. Rather than looking for boundaries, still, so much firepower to come. Hundreds are brilliant, stats are great, but it has to be team first,” said Doull after he was unhappy seeing Azam playing for a 100.
Simon Doull’s main reason to criticize Babar Azam was his strike rate when he reached the century mark. Babar scored 115 runs on 65 balls at a strike rate of 176.92. While his teammate Saim Ayub struck 74 off just 34 balls with a strike of 217.65. On the other hand, Jason Roy, who led his team to victory smashed 145 off just 63 balls at a strike rate of 230.16.
