AEW has decided to part ways with CM Punk after suspending the wrestling star for his backstage altercation with Jack Perry during All In London event.
It was reported that Perry and Punk got into a violent feud which ended with the latter leaving Wembley Arena without any assistance from the AEW representatives. CM Punk apparently didn’t get a transport facility and had to find his way back to the shelter all by himself.
Meanwhile, AEW has turned to social media and announced its decision to terminate 44-year-old CM Punk.
They wrote, “All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has terminated the wrestler and employment agreements between Phillip Brooks (CM Punk) and AEW with cause, effective immediately. The termination was confirmed today by Tony Khan, CEO, General Manager and Head of Creative of AEW.”
“The termination follows a weeklong internal investigation of an incident occurring backstage at AEW — All In London on Sunday, August 27. Following the investigation, the AEW Discipline Committee met and later convened with outside legal counsel before making a unanimous recommendation to Khan that CM Punk be terminated with cause.”
CM Punk beat Samoa Joe on his latest AEW appearance at Wembley to retain the Real World’s Championship title. Now that he is off the roster the AEW belt shall be up for grabs again. Meanwhile, wrestling fans appear shocked to hear the news of AEW firing CM Punk. Here’s a look at a few reactions.
While a few fans speculate about the ‘Second City Saviour’ to return to WWE, it may not happen. CM Punk made major allegations on WWE regarding medical negligence, lack of respect, and several issues while quitting the company. So, it’s hard to picture him coming back unless it happens for real.

There’s no denying that Punk is one I the most popular and respected pro wrestlers in the world who has held world titles in WWE and AEW. Meanwhile, he failed tremendously in the UFC. Following a successful WWE career, Punk made a move to the MMA world.
He competed twice in UFC and got finished both times. Dana White finally cut him off from the promotion. While he was having a successful tenure with Punk, that has also come to an end. It remains to be seen what he does next.
