Former England cricketer Paul Taylor warned about the pitch at the Nassau County cricket stadium ahead of the high-octane IND vs PAK clash. There has been a lot of speculation over the behaviour of the drop-in pitch, with the first game – SL vs SA – turning out to be a low-scoring affair. Ahead of the clash of the arch-rivals, Taylor reckons that the pitch currently lacks consistently and insists it would improve with time.
Is Nassau County pitch safe for IND vs PAK clash?
“The longer the pitches are in the ground, the more they settle down. The more pitch preparation that takes place on the pitches the flatter and more consistent they will get…”
“I don’t think there’s a massive issue with the pitches being dangerous. They just lack a bit of consistency at the moment and I think it will improve in time,” Taylor says.

Earlier, India head coach Rahul Dravid had expressed his skepticism over players injuring their calves and hamstrings.
“It’s great to get a good hit-out. Obviously, it looks like a good facility in terms of as quickly as they have put up. The ground is a bit soft, the guys could feel that on the hamstring and the calves. So that’s the area we need to ensure that we are working around to ensure that the guys are looking after. It does feel a little bit heavy underneath,” Dravid said in a video released by the BCCI.
