Speaking about the 15-member India squad, the camp has a mix of youth and experienced players. On one hand, the team has veterans like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah, who have already demonstrated their threat to the opposition with their abilities.
On the other hand, there are several players in the team who are going to don the Indian jersey in the T20 World Cup for the first time. Take a look at a few players who are going to make their T20 World Cup debut.

Yashasvi Jaiswal
There are a lot of expectations from 22-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal, as the stylish left-hand batter is going to play in his first T20 World Cup. There is no question about his batting position, as we see him opening the batting with Rohit Sharma. Jaiswal is coming off an impressive IPL 2024, as he scored 435 runs with an impressive strike rate of 155, which also gives a positive sign for India.
Shivam Dube
Shivam Dube is also going to play in his first ICC major event. Between Rinku Singh and Shivam Dube, the selectors have chosen Dube this time because of his all-round attributes. His performances in the IPL were also incredible. Also, Dube won the Player of the Series award in India’s last T20I series against Afghanistan.
Sanju Samson
The Indian selectors have always chosen Sanju Samson as the wicketkeeper-batter. Along with Rishabh Pant, he is also going to feature in the T20 World Cup. This is going to be his first-ever ICC tournament.
In IPL 2024, he also did wonders with the bat and his captaincy skills, as under him, the Rajasthan Royals qualified for the playoffs. Also, he scored 531 runs in 15 games. Since the team wants to pack aggressive wicketkeeper-batters, Sanju’s inclusion might come as a boon for India.
Kuldeep Yadav
Looking at the spinners, Kuldeep Yadav’s selection came as no surprise, as he has been the first-choice spinner in the Indian lineup for the last couple of years. This left-arm spinner has been a boon for India over the past few years. Going into the World Cup, and considering the conditions, there is no doubt that he can play a key role in this tournament.
Mohammed Siraj
Right-arm pacer Mohammed Siraj is also going to make his T20 World Cup debut. Having made his T20 international debut in 2017, Siraj has waited many long years to don the blue jersey in this mega event. There is no question that, along with Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj’s role is going to be important.
Yuzvendra Chahal
Last but not least, despite being one of the best leg-spinners in the country, Yuzvendra Chahal is yet to play his first T20 World Cup match for India. He is selected for the T20 World Cup 2024, and it will be interesting to see how he secures his place in the playing 11.
Speaking about his international cricket career to date, he has played 80 T20 international matches, where he has scalped 96 wickets. He is also the leading wicket-taker in IPL history with 205 wickets.
