It is a no-brainer that India vs Pakistan clashes are the most highly-anticipated matches in any ICC tournament, and it is no different in the T20 World Cup, where the arch-rivals will face-off in New York on June 9. But, much to the surprise of everyone, the tickets of the match are still available on the ICC website. Of course, the prices are soaring high, but the tickets still being available, raises questions on the success of the tournament.
Nassau County to Host India vs Pakistan
New York’s newly-built Nassau County cricket stadium will be used for the India vs Pakistan match, that has a capacity of 34,000 spectators. Not just that, India will play against Ireland, USA, and also a warm-up encounter against Bangladesh at the same venue, before moving to Lauderhill for the match against Canada.

Tickets Prices go Over the Roof
As per the ICC website, the tickets for the IND vs PAK match are still not sold out. They are available in three packages, the Diamond Club, Premium Club Lounges, and the Corner Club. The Diamond Club would have the best facilities, including the best food and specially curated experiences for the fans. The tickets there are priced at approx. INR 8,34,000 per person.
Then comes the Premium Club Lounges, where the fans will have to pay over INR 2,00,000 to watch the match. Here, there will be an exclusive buffet and bar, and exceptional views of the match. Lastly, the Corner Club tickets are priced at INR 2,29,000.
No Takers for Expensive Tickets?
But keeping the prices so high, might just have been a costly move by the ICC. If the stands remain empty even for and IND vs PAK clash, then there’s no way that tickets would sell for other matches, or the spectators would be interested in watching them live. What happens on June 9 remains to be seen, but for now, the pricey-tickets move seems to have backfired.
