How much is the Prize Money at UEFA Euro 2024?

The prize for the Euro 2024 champion is far higher than the 16 million euros distributed among the 16 teams at the Women's Euro 2022 in England

The 17th edition of the UEFA European Championship is just two weeks away. Ahead of EURO 2024, UEFA announced a prize fund of 331 million euros ($360 million) for the 24 national teams competing. This amount matches the prize fund for the postponed Euro 2020 and is twenty times larger than the prize money for the women’s Euro 2022. While we can all see the gender pay disparity, let us take a look at the EURO 2024 Prize money.

How much will EURO 2024 Winner earn?

The team that wins Euro 2024 could earn up to 28.25 million euros if they win all three of their group stage matches. Every team will at least take home 9.25 million euros for participating in the tournament, which kicks off on June 14 in Germany.

Additionally, UEFA has set aside 240 million euros for clubs that release their players for national duty. These clubs receive several thousand euros per player per day for both qualifying matches and the tournament itself. There’s also a 140 million euro fund specifically for the more than 550 clubs releasing players for Euro 2024, ensuring they are adequately compensated.

Moreover, UEFA has a 100 million euro fund to distribute based on player call-ups for national teams during qualifying games and the Nations League. For Euro 2020, the player release fund was 200 million euros, benefiting nearly 700 clubs, with Chelsea receiving the highest amount at 5.1 million euros.
