Spain bets on young talents with Yamal, Cubarsi & Fermin in UEFA Euro 2024 provisional squad

Spain have participated in 11 European Championships (with an upcoming twelfth appearance in 2024), from which they won three titles.

Spain’s new head coach Luis de la Fuente has named a 29-man provisional squad ahead of the UEFA Euro 2024 which kicks off on June 15th in Germany. The La Roja manager will have some tough decisions to make in the coming weeks as he will have to cut down the squad to the final 26 players who will compete in the mega event.

There are some exciting young players who have been called up. Barcelona boasts three wonderkids in the squad: Pau Cubarsi, Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez. These youngsters will be hoping to make their mark on the international stage. Unfortunately, Pablo Gavi will miss out on the tournament due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury and is still in recovery.

On the other hand, the squad features some familiar names from the Premier League including Rodri, David Raya and Marc Cucurella. However, there is a notable absence of Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro. Regardless, Manchester City maestro Rodri is expected to marshal the troops and will act as a glue to the Spain’s midfield.

Real Madrid’s Champions League hero Joselu has also been included in the squad. This is a significant call-up for the striker who has been in impressive form for Los Blancos. With a mix of experience and youthful talent, Spain’s provisional squad looks promising and exuberant.
