Bangladesh were in for a shock as they were handed a five-wicket defeat by USA in the 1st T20I of the three-match series. The loss will come as a blow to the Tigers who are in the final leg of their preparation for the T20 World Cup. USA managed to chase down the 154-run target with three balls to spare.
USA leave Bangladesh red-faced ahead of T20 World Cup
After a slow start from the openers, the Bangladesh middle-order batters failed to fire, leaving the side in a perilous position. Towrid Hridoy was the top-scorer for the side with a 58-run knock while Mahmadullah contributed with a 22-ball 32 run knock.
USA had their task cut short in the run-chase, with all batters contributing to the win. Corey Anderson (34*) and Harmeet Singh (33*) stayed unbeaten in the end as they got USA across the line to give them a 1-0 lead in the series against Bangladesh.

Bangladesh are placed in Group D alongside South Africa, Sri Lanka, Netherlands and Nepal. Bangladesh will kick-start their campaign against Sri Lanka on June 7 (Friday).
