Ahead of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, Floodlights at Jinnah Stadium fails to meet FIFA standards before Pakistan vs Saudi Arabia

Pakistan Football Team have been burdened with a huge problem. Ahead of their FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Saudi Arabia, the floodlights at the Jinnah Stadium fails to match the FIFA and AFC Standards. Lighting tests were conducted on 3rd and 18th May which claimed that the necessary standards are not met by the lights.

The Pakistan Football Federation has spoken with the Pakistan Sports Board about the scenario. This development came to light when the Pakistan Football Federation came to visit the stadium ahead of the mega encounter.

Floodlight Problem ahead of Pakistan’s games

This will be a huge problem if not solved at the earliest. It has been found that there is inconsistent lighting near the goalposts. If the lighting issue is not resolved then the Pakistan Football federation will have to shift the game at a neutral venue.

The Pakistan Football Federation has written a letter to the Pakistan Sports Board regarding the issue. It remains to be seen when the issue will be resolved. Pakistan are slated to face Saudi Arabia on 6th June which will be followed by an away trip to Tajikistan.
