In a two-month-long tournament like the Indian Premier League (IPL), injuries are prone to happen. This season, many players suffered injuries that forced them to miss matches or affected their game. It is ironic to prepare a playing XI of injured players, as injuries typically cause players to be left out of the team. However, in this article, we will create a team of players who were injured during the tournament.

Players who were injured in IPL 2024

One of the IPL’s most celebrated openers, Shikhar Dhawan, and David Warner were unable to make an impact this season, as both missed most of the tournament due to their respective injuries.

Mitchell Marsh was ruled out of the tournament after sustaining a hamstring injury. The Delhi Capitals suffered a lot as their two star players, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh, were not fully fit.

On the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav missed the first three matches of the season as he was recovering and was not fully fit. MI lost all three of these matches.

MS Dhoni was visibly in pain during matches due to his knee injury and underwent surgery after winning the IPL 2023 title.

CSK suffered the most with injuries; apart from Dhoni, Deepak Chahar also missed a match as he was not fit. Pacers Matheesha Pathirana and Mustafizur Rahman were also absent from the last matches after sustaining injuries.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain KL Rahul admitted that they did not qualify for the playoffs as their key players were unfit and out of the matches.
