Rain has delayed the start of the game between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders in Guwahati. The last league match of IPL 2024 is a crucial one for RR. A win in this crucial game will help Samson and co. seal their spot in the 2nd position and will pave way for the side to play in Qualifier 1. However, it will be bad news for the Royals if the game is abandoned.
What will happen if RR vs KKR is abandoned?
In case RR vs KKR gets washed out, both teams will get one point each. This would mean RR and SRH would finish the league stage on 17 points each. However, RR will be placed 3rd on the points table, with a NRR of 0.273 while SRH will continue to be on the 2nd spot with a superior NRR of 0.414.
This would mean that RR would play the Eliminator and would have just one chance to make it to the finals. If they win the game, then they will get two points and will seal their spot in the 2nd position, and will play the Qualifier 1 against KKR.
