IPL 2024 playoffs: Only 5 out of India’s 15-man squad for T20 World Cup 2024 remain in fray

When India selected its 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, IPL 2024 was on in full flow. Every team was trying hard to make it to the playoffs. On the last day of the Group stage fixtures, only five out of that 15-man squad have succeeded in making it to the playoffs, while 10 of them are out of the tournament.

The ones still there

Among the IPL teams players were selected from, only Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals still remain in the fray. The other two teams, Sunrisers Hyderabad and table-toppers Kolkata Knight Riders have no representation in the India squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, although Rinku Singh of KKR will travel as part of the reserve squad.

The ones that missed out

As many as 10 players from India’s 15-man squad have been knocked out of IPL. These include players from Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings, and Punjab Kings.

The first batch of players are due to depart shortly for USA to prepare for the gala tournament. India take on Ireland on June 5 to kick off their campaign. They play arch-rivals Pakistan on June 9.
