RCB vs CSK Recap- Royal Challengers Bengaluru qualify for IPL 2024 playoffs

RCB staged an incredible comeback to secure a TOP 4 finish and enter the IPL 2024 Playoffs. Their defence began with Glenn Maxwell dismissing CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad on the first ball of the innings. RCB posted 218/5, while CSK needed to score at least 201 runs to qualify. Although Rachin Ravindra and Ajinkya Rahane tried to revive CSK, RCB continued to chip away, edging closer to playoff qualification.

Gaikwad chose to bowl first in this virtual knockout match. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis scored 31 runs in three overs before rain interrupted play. RCB needed an 18-run victory to advance and eliminate CSK. After the rain, RCB pressed on, undeterred by losing wickets. Kohli and Du Plessis put up a 78-run partnership in 58 balls, followed by a 35-run stand in 20 balls. Rajat Patidar and Cameron Green then added a blazing 71-run partnership in just 28 balls, solidifying RCB’s playoff spot.
