RCB vs CSK Player Ratings: 10/10 to Virat Kohli for infusing life into struggling Bengaluru

It took a special effort from Virat Kohli to take RCB to the playoffs, after a solid 27-run win against CSK.

RCB vs CSK Player Ratings: It took a superhuman effort by Royal Challengers Bengaluru to make it to the IPL 2024 playoffs. IN the first eight matches the team had won only one encounter, and in the next six they won all to progress. In this journey, Saturday was a special day when they beat Chennai Super Kings by 27 runs at the Chinnawamy Stadium.

And once again, it was Virat Kohli, who was excellent on the day and contributed significantly in his team’s victory. He wasn’t the only one, but other players too. Insidesport takes a look at how each one of them performed.

RCB vs CSK Player Ratings

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)

Virat Kohli (10/10): Kohli scored 47 from 29 deliveries, and was the early aggressor in the innings, when the team was struggling in the first 10 overs. If not for him, the team could have managed only 160, but they ended with 218.

Faf du Plessis (6/10): Though a little slow initially, but the skipper did make it count in the end with 39-ball 54.

Rajat Patidar (8/10): In the middle-overs, it was Patidar who came up with some lusty blows. He scored 41 in quick time.

Cameron Green (9/10): Game-changing innings came from the bat of Green, who tonked CSK bowlers all over the park. He scored 38 from 17 deliveries.

Dinesh Karthik (5/10): Scored 14 from 6. It was a decent contribution in the context of the match, where RCB needed quick runs.

Glenn Maxwell (5/10): Maxi too had a similar contribution like Karthik where he scored 16. But his first-ball wicket of Ruturaj Gaikwad just changed the match around.

Yash Dayal (6/10): Although he returned with figures of 2/42 in his four overs, but he defended .. runs in the last over that helped RCB qualify for playoffs.

Lockie Ferguson (4/10): The Kiwi had a forgettable outing with the ball as he gave away 39 runs in three overs. His only solace was, he bagged the wicket of Ajinkya Rahane.

Mohammed Siraj (5/10): 1/35 in four overs where others were being carted for runs, was a good effort by Siraj. He managed to get some swing as well.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

Ruturaj Gaikwad (1/10): He failed when it mattered the most. He was dismissed for a golden duck by Glenn Maxwell. Not a day he would have hoped for, certainly.

Rachin Ravindra (8/10): Once again, with his 37-ball 61, Rachin showed what a brilliant player he can be for CSK in the future. He looked devastating, but was unfortunately run out.

Ajinkya Rahane (5/10): He made 33 from 22 deliveries, but that wasn’t enough on the day. There was only as much Rahane could have done.

Shivam Dube (2/10): 7 from 15, that too in a playoff qualification match, was a poor effort by Dube. His slow innings put pressure on rest of the batsmen.

Ravindra Jadeja (7/10): Jaddu scored 42 from 22. But it was a case of too little, too late for him. He needed some partnerships going.

Mitchell Santner (7/10): Although he failed with the bat, but his figures of 1/23 in four overs were brilliant. He made good use of sticky conditions right after the rain break.

MS Dhoni (5/10): He smashed the ball out of the Chinnaswamy with his 110m monstrous hit. But Thala couldn’t save his side from a loss in what could be his last IPL match.

Tushar Deshpande (2/10): 1/49 in four over isn’t something you expect from Deshpande, that too when he had an excellent season.

Maheesh Theekshana (7/10): 0/25 in four overs is great effort. But it remains to be seen, what happens with him next. He could face some action for alleged chucking.
