The duo of ace Indian shuttlers Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty entered the semi-finals of the Thailand Open Super 500 on Friday. The Indian shuttlers beat the team of Junaidi Arif and Roy King Yap in straight sets 21-7, 21-14.

Satwik-Chirag, Ashwini-Tanisha proceed to Thailand Open Super 500 semis

The duo of Satwik-Chirag had an rather easy outing against their Malaysian opponents. After clinching the first set easily, they managed to overpower the team of Arif-King despite a fightback, taking just 38 minutes to finish the game.

Meanwhile, Ashwini Ponappa and Tansha Crasto stormed into the women’s doubles semi-finals after beating Yu Lim and Shin Seung Chan. Unlike the men’s doubles, the Indian duo faced a steep challenge, managing to clinch the game 21-15, 21-23, 21-19. The match lasted for an hour and 16 minutes.

In men’s singles quarterfinals, Meiraba Luwang Maisnam’s stellar run in the tournament came to end after a defeat to world No 8 Kunlavut Vitidsarn. The Indian shuttler went down 12-21, 5-21 to Vitidsarn.
