Two Indians have been ordered by Sri Lankan court to surrender their passports. The duo have been charged for match fixing in Legends Cricket League and are out on bail at the moment. As per reports, Yoni Patel and P Akash were accused of match fixing in LCL for a match between Rajasthan Kings and New York Super Strikers in March.
As per reports, the duo were accused of match fixing when the matches were slated to take place on 8th and 19th March at the Pallekele Stadium. Yoni Patel is slated to own a team, Kandy Swamp Army which also takes part in the league.
After the accusation of spot fixing, the duo were not allowed to leave Sri Lanka by a magistrate court. And now the court has order the duo to surrender their passports as investigations continue for the case.

Upul Tharanga is the chairman of the national selectors along with Neil Broom complained after being approached by the duo. The Special Investigation Unit immediately decided to carry out the investigation.
Interestingly, Sri Lanka has a criminal law against match fixing. A huge fine along with 10 years of prison can be awarded to anyone if found guilty. The Legends Cricket League is not officially recognised by the ICC or the Sri Lanka Cricket Board.
