As Sandeep Lamichhane gets clean chit in sexual assault case, internet is divided over verdict

That was unacceptable, as few people still can't believe that Nepal's Sandeep Lamichhane is out of jail. On the other hand, a few are in support of Lamichhane as well. Who is right?

Well, what can we expect from Sandeep Lamichhane? Should he be out, or should he be behind bars? Speaking about the Nepal spin bowling sensation, Lamichhane, who was convicted of raping an 18-year-old woman in a Kathmandu hotel in 2022. And eventually the leg-spinner, was suspended as Nepal’s captain taken into custody after police issued an arrest warrant for him over the assault in 2022.

He was later released on bail, but since then, he has been under scrutiny by a lot of people. Looking at the scenario clearly, the Kathmandu District Court sentenced him to eight years in jail in January 2024 and also fined him $3770. But on Wednesday, the news came which lit the Lamichhane and his family’s faces as he had been proven innocent.

The Nepalese cricket star’s rape conviction was thrased on appeal after the former national captain challenged an eight-year jail sentence for sexual assault handed down in January. The high court has overturned the district court’s decision. Since this decision, there has been a hurricane of tweets, some are surely against the decision which came.
