This jeopardises Royal Challengers Bengaluru‘s prospects of qualifying for the playoffs, since for anything less than a win in the game tonight, they would be out of the race, and given the present weather, the odds of the game happening are slim.

Bengaluru weather ahead of RCB vs DC

It has been raining incessantly since the morning in different parts of the city with gusts of wins blowing over. Thunderstorms and light showers have already been predicted around the venue in the evening starting from about 6.30 PM according to Accuweather.

During the match, the precipitation is likely to be varied between 35 and 45 per cent. Reports also state that a storm will last until 8 p.m., with substantial local rainfall as well. It also shows isolated thunderstorms from 9 to 10 p.m. before returning to cloudy skies between 10 and 11 p.m. However, there will be rain, and the game will most likely be curtailed like it was on Saturday in Kolkata.

What happens if RCB vs DC is washed out

Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore are still vying for a berth in the top four. DC has a considerably better standing, with 12 points, but a net run rate of -0.316. RCB has 10 points from as many matches and an NRR of +0.217. They have won their last four consecutive matches.

RCB still needs to win their remaining 2 matches to be on 14 points. The job is not easy as they will have to better their NRR and hope favourable conditions work for them. On the other hand, As things stand, DC need to win their last couple of matches and hope for favourable conditions. So if the rain washes out the game, the teams are out of contention of the IPL 2024 playoffs
